Traditional forensic science education often emphasises theoretical concepts but can struggle to provide students with practical application and hands-on experience in essential areas such as crime scene investigation, documentation, evidence handling, and decision making. As a result, graduates may feel unprepared to meet the practical demands of their jobs.

 

There is a need to incorporate more practical training and hands-on experience into curricula, but many scenes are difficult and expensive to recreate in a higher education environment. These include fire scenes, blood pattern analysis and other complex scenes such as those involving motor vehicles. 

 

With Ground Truth XR, students can be immersed in a real-world environment without leaving the classroom. Each scene comes with a range of scenarios with prescribed learning outcomes, or staff can develop their own approach to each scene in line with their specific teaching objectives.
