The accurate documentation and initial critical analysis of a crime scene is cross-functional work that requires cooperation across multi-skilled teams. Complex cases often require a pool of specialist personnel at the scene which presents challenges with respect to staff availability, proximity and risk of contamination.
Using immersive technologies, Ground Truth XR has developed an operational tool that will
promote efficient collaboration between crime scene investigators in diverse locations.
From systematic studies undertaken in collaboration with crime scene examiners, we have developed a validated protocol for imaging fire and crime scenes in such a way that they are optimised for the creation of complete virtual reality reconstructions with measurement accuracy.
In under three hours and using existing equipment, investigators can be immersed in a hyper-realistic and accurate 3D reconstruction, which could be demonstrated in a court of law.
Our solutions address the requirement for rapid, collaborative scene inspection and provides immediate support to first responders, investiagtors and forensic experts who will be able to collaborate remotely for better investigative outcomes.
